CBX stands in 8th place for Top 10 most visited airports in Mexico, with the fastest growth pace between every other airport in its category. Thanks to the pandemic, airport traffic in Mexico and the whole world had a big fall of almost 60%. Mobility restrictions and health measures stated because of COVID-19 caused passenger traffic and flight options to decrease, also having the U.S.-Mexico border to close down. As expected, traffic in our CBX terminal changed and slowed down.

With the re-opening of the American border in November 2021, foreigner transit crossing by land went up, meaning there was a significant recovery compared to airport traffic numbers in Mexico from the year 2019.

The Abelardo L. Rodriguez International Airport has access to 39 destinations in Mexico and several international ones, with a traffic of almost 10 million passengers each year.
