What are the hours of operation of the Cross Border Xpress™ (CBX) terminal?

The CBX terminal is open 24 hours a day. Typically, airline counters are open from 4:30 to 23:00 (4:30 AM to 11:00 PM) and restaurants/stores from 6:00 to 14:00 (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) and 20:00 to 23:00 (8:00 PM to 11:00 PM)

What airlines provide customer service at CBX?

Aeromexico, Aeromexico Connect, Interjet, VivaAerobus, Volaris and Aero Calafia.

Can I use my airline ticket to use the CBX?

You will need to present both your boarding pass and your CBX Ticket to use the CBX skybridge.

Can I print my boarding pass at the CBX?

Yes, CBX has 8 automatic, user friendly kiosks, to print boarding passes and there are customer service representatives from the airlines available to assist.

What happens if I lose my airline ticket?

You can request assistance of the airline staff at their customer service booths in the departure area of the CBX or reprint it in the Boarding Pass Kiosk also located in the same area.

When arriving at The Tijuana Airport (TIJ) from a domestic flight, can I go to Tijuana and return to the airport to cross the border through the CBX?

No. When arriving at the Tijuana airport passengers must go directly to the CBX skybridge to cross the border.

What are the necessary documents to use the CBX?

Does the CBX have Trusted Traveler Program?

Yes CBX participates in the Global Entry, and Sentri programs.

Can I get my I-94 permit at the CBX when entering into the U.S.?

Yes, Customs and Border Protection in CBX provides full immigration services, as in any other land or airport port of entry.

What can’t I bring across the border on CBX?

CBX is part of a secure airport terminal and an international border crossing for USA and Mexico. All US and Mexican Customs and Immigration regulations will be enforced.

If I do not travel, can I go along with my relative from the CBX to Tijuana airport?

No; the CBX skybridge is only for passengers carrying a valid boarding pass for a flight either departing Tijuana Airport within the following 24 hours or having arrived within 4 hours. If you are not flying, you may not use the skybridge.

Who can take my minor from the CBX to Tijuana airport?

“The CBX bridge is an international border crossing between the United States and Mexico.  Therefore, parents of minors under the age of 18 that will be traveling unescorted, should first consult with their airline and the immigration authorities for Mexico and the United States before travel to determine policy and required travel documents.”

What services do you offer for guests with disabilities/mobility impairments?

The CBX facility is ADA compliant, in partnership with airlines flying in and out of TIJ, CBX also provides wheelchair assistance. Please contact your airline to request this service.

How long is the average walking time over the bridge?

The bridge spans 400 feet and takes less than three minutes to cross.

Does the CBX provide Porters or baggage cart service to walk across the bridge?

Yes, CBX has both services available.

Where is the CBX’s lost and found office? Who do I call?

Can I exchange currency or purchase airline tickets at the Cross Border Xpress terminal?

Currency exchange is available at CBX and airline tickets can be purchased at on-site airline ticket counters.

What financial services are provided at the CBX?

Currency exchanges and ATMs

Is there any food and beverage service at the CBX?

Currently there is no food service in our facility. Plans are to add a full service restaurant in the near future 

What ground transportation options do I have in the CBX?

Car rental, intercity buses, shuttles within San Diego, taxis, and Uber. Please see Getting Here for more details.

Does the CBX have long term parking?

Yes, the CBX has both short and long term parking. Please see Parking for more details.

Can I purchase parking in advance?

No, parking must be purchased on site at the self-pay stations located at the entrance/exit of the lot. Cash and credit cards accepted.

Is there any VIP lounge at the CBX?

Yes, CBX has a small VIP lounge for people with AMEX cards located just inside the departure entrance to the building.

Where may I smoke at the Cross Border Xpress terminal?

Smoking is permitted in the designated areas outside the CBX terminal. No smoking is allowed within the terminal building or bridge.

Where can alcoholic beverages be purchased at CBX?

Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase in the Duty Free Store for passengers travelling southbound only

Where can I store my luggage at CBX?

CBX does not provide any luggage storage services at this time.
