YOUR TRAVEL TIPS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS HOLIDAY SEASON.

Holiday season is coming up and it's time to plan your travels. CBX, the bridge that connects the Tijuana International Airport with a service terminal in San Diego, is a very easy and safe way to help you avoid the regular ports of entries in San Ysidro and Otay Mesa. If you are traveling north, you can fly to Tijuana and walk through CBX into the United States. Otherwise, if you are traveling south, you can take any flight from Tijuana and save in travel rates.

We know all inbound and outbound ports, say aerial or terrestrial, are very busy this time of the year. That is why we want to give you all the requirements and also some tips that can help you save time and money for you to enjoy your last vacations of the year.

In order to cross the CBX bridge, you must be a passenger from the Tijuana International Airport, so your boarding pass will be solicited (If you are traveling south you can only use the bridge at least 24 hours prior your flight; if you are traveling north, you can only use it immediately after landing in Tijuana). You will need a CBX ticket, which you can purchase in advance on our web page or through our CBX App for smartphones. Don’t forget to double check that you are purchasing the correct amount of tickets, and if it is a one-way ticket or for a round trip. Rates can be higher due to seasonality.

International travelers that seek to get to Mexico must fill out a Multiple Immigration Form (FMM) that can be filled out electronically via their website, so you can print it out since they won’t be accepting any documents in mobile devices. If you are visiting the country for more than 7 days, a Non Resident Fee (DNR) must be paid; it is currently $638 Mexican pesos, though the price changes every year. To save up some time you can make this payment online via wire transfer to any bank in Mexico. You must show the voucher to the migratory authorities.

If you are a foreigner entering the United States, you must fill out a I-94 permit. It can be filled out in the CBP’s webpage or their official app.

Besides the requirements previously mentioned, you must travel with your unexpired passport and/or valid ID and, in case of being necessary, a visa. You might want to consider extra time for your travel plans, considering how busy all ports of entry will be.

Some CBX tips and options:
